13 Ways to Be Better Prepared for Fall

Fall is here! Here are some steps to take to get ready for the colder seasons:

  • Have your Heat and Air unit checked and service?  Adjust temperature on thermostat for cooler nights but possible still warm days.
  • Have your gutters checked and cleaned to prevent water damage?
  • Disconnect outside hoses.
  • Check outside lighting.  Since it gets dark early, replace any blown out bulbs!
  • Remove leaves from sidewalks and steps.  They can be extremely slippery when wet.
  • Make sure you are wearing nonskid shoes in the rain or snow.
  • Change Batteries in Smoke Detectors and Carbon Monoxide Detector
  • Replace Batteries in Flashlights/Lanterns in case of power outage (Safer to use than candles)
  • Get out your warmer clothes.
  • Contact your doctor about getting your flu shot
  • Be diligent about washing hands, sanitizing, and staying away from sick people.
  • Make sure you are eating healthy foods and or taking vitamins to boast your immune system
  • Exercise – you might need to change up your routine to indoor activities.

We hope this helps you! Have an amazing Fall season!

We Care About Your Loved Ones!

“Recently while taking a walk with a client, she saw some pinecones along the road. The pinecones resembled pumpkins. Her family told me that she liked to do crafts. So, we picked up some cones, cleaned them and then painted them! I’m not sure if painting them or watching me get paint on me was more entertaining for her! Doing familiar activities with your loved ones helps them to remember fond memories!”
